Hey Mission City!
Just a few things to update you all on as we continue to navigate these challenging times with the Coronavirus. Things are changing by the hour and something definitely shifted in our nation yesterday with its response to this crisis.
With the main advice from our Government and health officials being to stay away from public gatherings, I feel the most responsible thing we can do as a Church is to follow that advice going forward. This isn’t fear based, just wisdom in my opinion to make sure we are taking all precautions necessary in keeping our older members safe as well as people with pre-existing health conditions. Keeping our people safe matters more to me than having weekend services.
Our lead Team has been discussing this for some time and we’ve decided that this Sunday will be our last in person gathering for the month of March. Starting on March 22 through the end of March we’ll be moving our services to an online platform that we’ll stream each weekend for you to worship and watch from your homes. We encourage you to gather with family and friends for watch parties on Sunday mornings. Also, keep gathering in your life groups but please avoid contact with one another and diligently follow health guidelines like washing your hands often.
Stay connected with us through social media and email as we’ll be communicating all the details you’ll need to engage with us in a meaningful online experiences over the weeks to come.
If you are a high risk person for Coronavirus either by age, or pre-existing health conditions, please stay home this weekend.
This is not a time to panic, this is a time to pray for God’s protection over our families, friends, and communities. Let’s pray for all our Doctors and Nurses and Medical Professionals who are on the front lines of caring for all those affected.
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
We will be streaming a live prayer event this coming Thursday on social media. Stay tuned for details.
You are loved!
